NASA Astronaut visits The Grange – Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger

On Friday 7th July 2023, we were so lucky to welcome NASA Astronaut – Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger, who flew on one of the final missions of the Space Shuttle in 2010 to help finish the construction of the International Space Station

This mission was historic for being the first time that a space crew was more than half women

Our Year 7 and 10 students were able to listen to Dottie’s incredible story of how she grew up dreaming of being an astronaut, studied science before becoming a schoolteacher and working her way into NASA as an educator astronaut. Since leaving NASA she has continued to be a science educator and passionate about young people making a difference in the world
