Jubilee Exhibition 2022
Schools across ALPS came together in June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Students and teachers collaborated on a number of projects involving music, art and dance.
MUSIC
Turnfurlong Junior School (TJS), Turnfurlong Infant School (TIS) and The Grange School (TGS) joined together in a signing version of Take That’s “The Greatest Day”.
In preparation, The Grange School choir attended the rehearsals of the juniors, and some year 3 students went across to TIS to learn the song. The final performance was wonderful!
ART
Art featured hugely across the three schools, with TIS students all completing inspirational portraits of the Queen herself.
The pupils at TJS collaborated to produce huge collages showcasing the passing decades since the Queen’s coronation, and TGS submitted an array of amazing pieces in a variety of mediums as part of a whole school competition.
DANCE
Year 9 students from The Grange School came over to TJS to choreograph and teach year 5 and 6 a dance from the decades. They were professional, patient and very knowledgeable! The resulting dances were fabulous.
The dancers were joined by year 3 and 4, and year 7, 8 and 9 on Friday 17th June 2022, where they all performed to our Infant and Junior schools to finish off our celebrations!
